Rattled by man at window

Midterrace house with steps that lead down from the kitchen to the garden. The garden backs onto a track.

Was sitting in the kitchen just now when there was a knock at the window, young guy grimacing at me, kind of grinning. I shook my phone at him like "im calling the police" and he just smiled. Very creepy. I called family members down and then he disappeared when they arrived. Would you be freaked out?

I'd be freaked out too. Good reactions from you though.

I would think a loony and move on if my windows are that able to see in i wouldn't be surprised people look in even if we go well no one should be looking in

Yep. Call police and report. Ask they drive by and do an extra patrol or two in your area.

He cant have been a burglar to so nonchalantly show his face right??

Well of course, anyone would be unnerved by that so late at night.

Edited

Its more that he would have had to turn off the road, walk down a track, cross the garden and climb some stairs

I wouldn't bother ringing the police tbh. Prob just a pissed dickhead who thought it would be funny/wanted to see why a light was on. Been loads of random stragglers wandering past my house in the early hours this week, combination of the warm evenings and late football I imagine.
