To wonder why people jump to calling people who murder other prisoners heros?

Ive just seen something on facebook where 3 men have been charged for a killing another in prison. He killed a young child. People are praising these men, calling them a hero's, saying they should be released, have their sentences reduced.... all while forgetting these people are also serious criminals to be on the same wing. Apparently 2 of them were in for murder of women.
I would also believe they did this because of something that happened in prison (debt/gang related) not because of the reason he was in.

They are not heroes. I don't agree with the death penalty. But if we were to have the death penalty, then it would need to be carried out as humanely as possible. Not some lags stabbing a fellow lag with homemade daggers.

Splendid! Let's allow all the nonces etc to get murdered by these brave, brave heroes, who must have been sentenced to a crime they didn't commit.
However, the next day these brave heroes turn on the prison officers, who are there to keep these heroes safe. What then?

Honestly, some of you are living out some fucked up murder porn fantasies and you are all fucking weird.

I was just reading that one of the guys is in there for killing a 24year old woman a few years ago. Her body was not found. He told them that he had knowledge of where she was and when they took him for questioning he attacked an officer.

Still reading comments on various pages (bloody algorithms on facebook) that these people are so brilliant.

They’re not heroes, but however the vile monsters meet their end, it’s a bonus for humanity. Nothing to mourn there.

@OnlyMabelInTheBuilding

Nobody is saying that their deaths should be mourned. Only that it's ignorant and insensitive to champion their murderers, when these people have raped and murdered other, completely innocent, people.

I know, it's disgusting. I cannot comprehend how so many people just do not care about these people's prior victims.

I understand taking pleasure in the murder of someone who committed atrocities, I can even understand people saying "well done" to the killers for this one specific crime.

But to consider them brilliant people as a whole is so shockingly disrespectful to their other victims. If the people making these comments are to be consistent, they should also be calling for the deaths of the murderers due to the previous awful crimes they have committed.

Who would want to watch that? Possibly the sort of people who would end up playing the game at some point anyway.

like a real life squid games
free entertainment and reduce prison populations and reoffending

I agree, OP.

Murder is always horrible. I was disgusted by the celebrations by some people of the murder of Ian Huntley a few months ago.

He was never going to get out of prison. A life sentence IS the punishment - and I totally support his incarceration - I'm not an apologist for him. The prison murder was pure brutality by nasty people and should not be praised by anyone.

Also, being less high-minded, frankly sitting in prison for years on end, or even for the rest of your life, is a much more horrific prospect than dying.

RapunzelHadExtensions · 21/06/2026 16:13

It's also puts the prison officers at much more risk. The killer of Huntley had killed his pregnant girlfriend. I felt so much for her family reading the comments, someone saying he should get a knighthood 😥

omghereistrouble · 21/06/2026 16:46

in prison the prisoners have their own form of justice and punishment right or wrong.
it is ok sayin that some deplorable person is now dead but it still makes the ones who did the act murderers for which they should be punished.
trouble for every person such as Ian Huntley they kill there are lots more so where does it stop?
