AIBU PSYCHIC HELP

Hello, I have had the day from hell with my autistic son. I parked the car and emptied it of all the kids’ paraphernalia. Then when I went to lock the car I couldn’t find the keys. I have turned the place upside down and looked in the car. Does any psychic person have a feeling about where they are? I am completely desperate. It’s has just been the cherry on top on a terrible terrible day.

Pocket of an item of clothing you took off in the rush and forgot about
Sink
Fridge
Any place you put the kids stuff
On top of the car
Under the car
In the boot
Down the back of seat cushions or the footwells
Fallen in a shoe, under a mat

Good luck!

I am not psychic but I do lose shit. Did you have a jumper or coat on at any point which you took off and threw in the back- check in the pockets.

stayathomegardener · 18/06/2026 20:18

Tucked under the front seat, try looking with a torch.

HuglessDouglass · 18/06/2026 20:19

Dropped between the car and the house? Gutter, hedge, porch, garden,.drain....? x

Random321 · 18/06/2026 20:20

How did you get into your house?

Did you need a key and was it on same bunch as car key?

Just trying to narrow it down.

1weekinjuy · 18/06/2026 20:21

Very likely your son knows
or indeed they are on him or in one of his items of clothing

MyThreeWords · 18/06/2026 20:24

Not psychic, but hopefully if enough people respond, one of us will get it right by accident.

-When you put down a bundle of kids paraphenalia, your keys were in your hand too, so they got put in the same place. Somewhere daft like a toy box or laundry basket.

-You put them in the pocket of a clothing item that you then then took off absent-mindedly

-You put them on the car bonnet but they slid either forwards onto the ground or back to nestle where the windscreen wipers are

-You put them on a sensible surface in the home but they slid onto the floor behind it.

You went straight to the dog/cat/hamster when you got in, so you put the keys down in the pet's environs or among his equipment

MyThreeWords · 18/06/2026 20:26

You threw something in the bin, forgetting the keys were in your hand

SandyHappy · 18/06/2026 20:27

Did you use the keys to get inside the house or are they on a separate bunch? Did you lock the car?

DysonHoover · 18/06/2026 20:28

Ask St Anthony. I am forever losing stuff and he always helps!

MyThreeWords · 18/06/2026 20:29

Above all, give yourself space to become calmer and kinder to yourself. I understand the nightmarishly high level of stress this causes, and how badly that depletes your ability to remember the steps you took when you got in. Deep breaths xx

Baconandonions · 18/06/2026 20:32

The pouch behind the driver/passenger seat.

JanBlues2026 · 18/06/2026 20:33

In the ignition?

SoScarletItWas · 18/06/2026 20:35

On the car seat, tucked down between the bottom and upright parts of the seat. That’s where mine were last time I lost them.

Justletmemoveon · 18/06/2026 20:37

I would ask God. I’ve done this before and he showed me.

JanBlues2026 · 18/06/2026 20:37

To add, I always say go back and look again in the first place you looked. As this is the place you won’t have checked thoroughly.

EverardDeTroyes · 18/06/2026 20:39

Is it the sort of key that just needs to be in the car for the engine to work or does it need to be in the ignition? If the former, it's probably gone down the side of the driver or passenger seat. Ask me how I know and no, I'm not psychic just very prone to dropping things without thinking about it.

abracadabra1980 · 18/06/2026 20:50

Is there a front door key on the bunch? I’ve left mine stuck in the front door a few times? I lose things so much I now have a little Labrador who helps me find the odd thing. She will find my phone and bring it fine from upstairs and take my socks off if my back is bad. I hope you get some answers and peace this evening, OP.

THEY WERE ON THE ROOF! Thank you so much everyone. I did take a break and let my husband look when he got in from work. When we were standing chatting in the door way I noticed them. 😂

Crack open the champers!!!!!

Tinkaton · 18/06/2026 21:01

Honestly! I am so relieved. Both kids are asleep. I am going to have some well earned rest after the horrors of today.

This happened to me last month. Thing is I only realised I must have put them on the roof of DP’s car after a 3 hour journey in said car. Needless to say they weren’t there when we arrived. So pleased you found them, saves the hassle of a locksmith and being out of pocket

AndSoFinally · 18/06/2026 21:07

This is where I found mine once 😂

Isinglass20 · 19/06/2026 19:33

I’ve often put the keys on the car shelf while unloading the boot then forget and close the boot or put on floor or box or with carrier of the food or other stuff, so check bags etc
