Chainsaw at this time?

Neighbours have just started chainsawing or using a petrol hedge cutter on their hedge at 6.45 and still going now!
The noise is annoying but doesn’t bother me much, it’s just my 3 and 4 year old can’t get to sleep with the noise!
do you think this is a reasonable time to use such a noisy tool!?

It's hardly late I think they can do it till at least 8 and probably 9.

What time are your kids up of a morning making noise? Neighbours might be sleeping then

Yeah they are dicks but it is what it is. I’m sure your neighbours will experience you shouting, or the kids screaming in the garden or the ball going over the fence over the years so I’d let this one go

Generally the use of chainsaws in a Saturday should end at 2pm. If it was a commercial firm trimming a tree they’d know that. For private DIY there’s no set law, but should be within reason, and after 5pm I think it would be considered unreasonable. However if this is a one off there’s nothing you can do other than ask your neighbour not to do it again.

Not great on a summer evening! One of our neighbours lit a bloody bonfire at 5.30!! I’ve had to shut all the doors and windows and have done nothing but cough and clear my throat and nose for the last 2 hours 😭

It’s still light out, it’s a Saturday night. I wouldn’t be too bothered about it.
