as he probably won't be home until after I'm in bed tonight.

He seems to think I'm just doing it to check up on him and rants a raves at me down the phone, then hangs up when I try to speak.

YANBU.
If he'll be home after you've gone to bed, when else are you supposed to get things sorted out.
Does he often rant and rave at you?

luckylady74 · 23/06/2008 21:35

I would leave him a large note telling him what I'd decided
But I wouldn't ever put up with the implication that I was a stereotypical nagging wife or that hanging up on me was an appropriate thing to do - macho bollocks that should have been left at school imho.

saggyhairyarse · 23/06/2008 21:42

Couldn't you just text him?

ninja · 23/06/2008 21:43

Thank you - I HATE being hung up on, it leaves you all full of words and no-one to say them to and then if you DO phone back you just back up what he's saying aaaarrgh

and YES he does like his ranting and raving. He ALWAYS thinks he's right (I see it in his relationships with family and friends as well). We did go to relate a few years ago, but they sacked us (basically ecause he was impossible to work with!!)

He does have lots of other good points, but the problem is these moments end up sticking in your mind don't they ....?

It feels better getting it off my chest!!

I guess I could have texted him, but I needed to make sure that he would sort out after school arrangements as I'm out about 7.30 tomorrow and he'll still be asleep.

how dare you interfere with his special post match drinking and talking bollocks abut football to discuss something so trivial as childcare for his daughter. Did you not know that it is special sacred time that should not be disturbed. Sounds like a bit too much testosterone to me.

ninja · 23/06/2008 21:48

you're right myfeethurt, I should have thought of it like that!
