Why are the media being silent on the Belfast attack?

Is the open borders narrative that important to them that they feel the need to ignore one of the most horrific attacks ever seen on a UK street?

I despair for the future of the UK. It’s grim.

Yesterday I said these protests would end in pointless violence and was told by certain posters that I had an agenda to stop people going out to protest.

No agenda at all.

In fact, if there was a way to safely come together to lend support to the man who had been hurt I would possibly do so.

I dont agree with the disgusting treatment of all people here with a non-white appearance. I dont agree that the men (mostly men and boys) dont protest- they riot and fuck up roads, steal cars, burn buildings, take up resources like police, fire brigade and hospitals.

Most people in NI know who these people are, know their agenda and know we do not want to be in anyway tainted by association.

Today my child's school closed at 11am due to fear of riots. They are currently trying to see if they can run a GCSE exam this afternoon.

Its very near where the incident happened. The was pastoral support on all day as so many children had witnessed scenes of violence last night.
Its also a multi cultural school and according to my DC a lot of children were not in today at all.

All my classes were cancelled, staff sent home and building locked up just before 11 this morning. All buses were cancelled around 12, leaving loads of people miles from home.

DS1 has gone to collect DS2 whose school is 2 miles away.

Stay safe.❤️

The rioters last night were both nationalists and loyalists. The love won’t last but last night they came together.

Oh nooo it's only loyalists from loyalist areas anything else you say is <checks notes> 'fact resistant'.

With Conor McGregor, the famous loyalist, leading the charge?

Yep. Has anyone told him he's a loyalist now as some self appointed 'fact non resistant' mumsnetters has decreed it so.

The point abput no media cover up is really going over your head here, isn’t it?
I can’t help any more than I already have.

Yes please don't try to help me anymore I'm tired of repeating myself. You don't understand let's move on shall we.

Ohhh that must be why peace loving Mr Adams condemned it. It's the wrong thugs!

You can deflect all you want. I don’t give a shit was GA said. This is about the reality on the street right now.
People that live here know the truth. Newtownards rd, sandy row, shankill, Donegal pass, Cloughfern eg all loyalist strongholds. I haven’t read of any disturbances in nationalist areas- peaceful protest yesterday in a few areas but no sustained attacks. Happy to be proved wrong.

I’ve watched the past few months union/ uvf flags being erected (huge ones- bigger than ever). The bonfires are in full flow. Must’ve got some new funding for that- oh no wait they steal the pallets (ongoing investigation).

The past few weeks we’ve seen a Muslim business owner burnt out in the shankill, far right protesters (with uvf and union flags) shouting abuse at a peace march. Reporting last week (before Monday night) of ethnic minorities (in loyalist areas) stocking up on essentials so that they can take cover over the 12th due to intimidation and rioting. Well unfortunately those people will be under cover from for the foreseeable.

there has been a long history of loyalist/ unionist communities being unwelcome to anyone other than ‘like them’ us’. It’s been going on for decades and decades.

Did you not check the very serious situation in Belfast before posting Loyalist terrorists my arse? Even after Adam's statement? You weren't curious enough to look at what's actually happening?

The racist violence is happening in predominantly loyalist areas, orchestrated by loyalist terrorists.

Well I think I’ll believe the chief constable and unionist leaders who agreed this morning that the violence was predominantly in loyalist areas. Plus I have eyes and ears and know the areas and the community division lines very well.

I've no idea why we've derailed this into a loyalist/ republican thing anyway. We know both 'sides' have been involved. Thugs are thugs and yes in NI there does seem to be a higher concentration than anywhere else I agree.

The point of the thread was it seemed to be kept quiet initially, it then erupted and is now everywhere.

People are allowed to protest but of course violence is wrong obviously. Who actually cares if they are republican or loyalist?! Let them be judged by their actions not their political preferences.

'Even after Adam's statement'

Oh please. Gerry's 'rascism' is wrong guys statement <not as bad as blowing innocent people up obvs>.

Mlddleoftheroad · Today 14:44

It's attacks, plural and it's all over the news channels.

I guess you only want to talk about the stabbing though.
Violent thugs burning homes while people are in them not so high on your list.

Wasn't it indeed called the 'troubles' by locals? Yes lots died true, the IRA were brutal murderers.

The point was a pp said Belfast wasn't a stranger to violence by 'white men' and we didn't hear about. We did. We all heard about the troubles.

You clearly did not hear all about it.
