AIBU to ask the supermarket to remove a missed security tag?

I bought a dress from a supermarket last week and paid at the self checkout. I don't have the receipt any longer. Getting dressed this morning I noticed the security tag is still on the dress. Would I be ok to take it back for them to remove it as I can't prove I've not robbed it? (I haven't).

I’ve done this a fair few times. I’m sure it wouldn’t be an issue.

Obviously you should go back and ask them otherwise you can't wear it - you could show them a payment from your bank account on the day you bought it if they need some kind of proof, I'm sure I have done that before when I have lost the receipt.

Did you pay by card? Should have some detail on there.

My DD bought two pairs of trousers in London there was a self service till that we needed help with . Left the shop after paying .No beeping.Went into another shop.Beeped thought nothing of it.
There was a tag left on . Had to go back to shop a few days later . Again no beep . Customer Services said sometimes there are 2 tags on??
Why? We had help at the till so tags were removed but why 2. And why no beep in their shop but active in a completely different store

I did pay by card, well, phone, but I'm in there every other day so I can't prove which was the day. I'll try though.
