AIBU to move towns for a better secondary school for my child?

Currently at a point where we need to move house and I’m stuck between:

a) stay in the same town, keep DC 6 and 9 in current primary schools and In 2 years DC 9 will go to secondary school in the town who are in special measures. She has SEN and struggles in current school who are very nurturing so likely to struggle in secondary school but would be going with her friends

b) move to next town, slightly cheaper homes, closer to my work, secondary school who are rated good but DC 6 would need to change primary schools at some point and DC9 would either need to change primary schools or go to secondary school where she doesn’t know anyone and finds change hard

Really not sure what the right choice is here and worried I’m putting one child’s needs before the other

I think your instincts are correct and you should move her.

Being with friends isn't enough to cushion a sen child from an environment that isn't right for them.

I would be moving. Cheaper housing, closer to work and better secondary schools. At that age you could get the kids excited by a nice new house the chance to get new rooms etc.
