New school?

Hi I am currently thinking of moving my son (current year 1) into a new school at the start of the next academic year.
although my son is doing well at his current school, my concerns are that he has become involved In a big group of boisterous boys at his current school.
the area of the current school has gone downhill quite dramatically in the last few years and you can definitely see this in the children attending the school.
although there hasn’t been many issues yet with my child I can see that problems are likely in the future and I’m worried he will go down the wrong path. (Dramatic, I know)
the school I am looking to move him to is a much smaller CofE village school and seems to be quieter and calmer. Has anyone ever moved their boisterous boys to a smaller school and seen an improvement? Or am I being totally unreasonable?! Help!

There is someone on Primary education with the opposite, her son is in a small school, has similar issues behaviour wise and is thinking of moving to a larger school!

They are 5/6 years old. Young children should have lots of energy at that age and yes may be boisterous.
