I attended an interview 10 days ago. It went very well and they said they would like to take me on. I was asked to call the next day to discuss the role further. I phoned and left a message. Then phoned several hours later to be told I would receive a call later that day. Three days later I sent a follow up email to ask if I had been successful, no call, no reply to my email. Is it worth following up again or accept I have been ghosted? I really didn't think that happened and really did want this job. I don't want to be over the top but equally want to show how much I would like this role. Any advice would be welcome.

I would assume either a crisis happened or they interviewed someone after you that they preferred and they're waiting for that person to decide. It's bad form to leave you hanging after saying that they'll be in touch.

Thank you for replying, I did wonder if something had come up but hoped at least a short email to confirm Id be unsuccessful. I'll maybe leave a couple more days and email one more time.

Yes get in touch. that is very bad of tbem. I hope they apologize profusely and offer you the job formally

Yeah I’d contact them, if they want to give you the job then you’re not risking anything really by looking keen.
Ive had similar happen to me, they kept saying the salary was in for review and they’d be in touch, always very apologetic when I got hold of them, went on for about a month to the point I thought nah I don’t want to work for this shit show anyhow and I never heard anything back in the end anyhow
what I’m saying is, if they mess you about too much then I’d take it as a flag that they are at a minimum chaotic and at worst treat people with little respect with no regard for them

How awful OP. I'd agree with PP that (1) they're probably waiting on someone else, and (b) it shows a lack of consideration.

I had a couple of situations like this, and in retrospect consider them both a bullet dodged. In one case, despite repeatedly calling for an update I heard nothing from them for over a month... and then suddenly received a bundle in the post telling me my start date! I let them know I had other plans.

Thank you so much for all replying to me. He called today and offered the job - there were legitimate reasons for the delay - you all made me feel a lot better though. Enjoy your day.
