I'm not sure what world events impact Cyprus except potential costs/flight issues.

Get good insurance.

Enjoy your holiday.

We're off to greek islands end of June

It will be fine. There was one incident at the start of of the war, but people have been travelling to and from quite freely since. Might be nice and quiet !

Drones hit the British military base at RAF Akrotiri in March as part of Iran war….

Tourism is down

but it’s a shame - it was a one-off drone and very unlikely to happen again

hey - people are still (stupidly) travelling to Dubai.

PicknStick · 30/05/2026 23:51

There are so many other places to go, why risk it?

Jopo12 · 31/05/2026 00:07

Cyrpus is wonderful and incredibly safe
In The UK There's a stabbing in the news every other day.you will be far aafer in Cyprus.
I recommend the Famagusta region: protaras, Kapparis, ayia Napa

BlackBean2023 · 31/05/2026 06:05

Cyprus is lovely - and they drive on the same side of the road as us so super easy to hire a car and get around!

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 31/05/2026 06:51

i would go. but there are plenty of Greek islands as alternatives if you are worried why are you only considering cyprus?

AddictedToTea · 31/05/2026 07:03

I went this half term. Had a great time. What would stop me going in July/August is the 40 degree heat not world events!

FusionChefGeoff · 31/05/2026 08:37

Heat would be my concern too

Tocyprusornot · 31/05/2026 12:03

weve done Cyprus in the summer before, no issues with heat if you have a pool and ac.

cant find many other Greek islands with summer availability this late in the game, hence why we’re considering Cyprus as that’s where availability is, as others are probably not keen on going…
