Anyone have any knowledge of the Spanish Legal System ?

Changed my name for this.

Does anyone know what happens if you are convicted of a serious crime under Spanish Law?

What happens in court - do they have trials like we do with a Jury?

Who pays for a Barrister?

IF you plead guilty do you serve your sentence in Spain?

I don't want to say much more at present

What if they are a suicide risk?

I believe the person is represented in court by an abogado (like a mix of lawyer and barrister here) and usually the accused person pays for it themselves. Sometimes legal aid is available but depends on circumstances. Trials can be by judge/panel of judges or jury depending on case. If convicted person usually serves sentence in Spain but can apply to serve elsewhere. If suicide risk they’ll be monitored like all the other convicts that claim to be a suicide risk.
