Estranged for 20 years because of my now dead narcissistic Father. She shut the door in my face 2 days ago. Ice cold. I don't want to give up.

Did you write a letter first or just turn up on her doorstep? Not many people would appreciate the latter after 20 years of no contact OP.

Is there an intermediary you could use like an aunt or cousin?

I’ve been estranged from my mum for 10 years - so half the time. If she turned up at my door I’d slam it in her face too - and mean it. I certainly wouldn’t want her persisting.

Ditto. And I’m only two years in. I’m still at the stage of waking up in a cold sweat, thinking I have to revisit my life with my maternal parent in it.
