My mom used to send me around to the neighbours to ask for "a fag"

I mean it's not as if I am on matey terms with this mum or anything. She never speaks to me!

I suppose the child isn't trying to get some for herself/an older mate? - I know 7 is bloody young, but I've seen a few....

I don't in public, but the mum has caught me in the garden once. I hide it from mine.

And evenas a filthy smoker, I'd not send me kid out blagging them

twig - that was my first thought, and then I thought I shouldnt make assumptions! Perhaps the neighbour told her kid to knock on every door til she found a fag.

my mum used to send my brother and I down to the shops for 20 rothmans when I was oh 6-7 yrs old

And trust me even being as young as 6-7 you have a vested interest in making sure your ma has enough fags.
