AIBU to want more protection from obnoxious public prank and rage baiting?

We have a problem with young men in the area trying to create content usually mildly annoying things like trying to stir up drama on a date night, stupid dances or yelling weird things in a restaurant. Sometimes it goes over the top but rarely.

Today though we were out, minding our own business having some ice cream. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and it's very obvious. This lad comes up to DH and says "hey man congratulations on the baby" DH is confused but politely thanks him. Then this guy says "you havin' a boy or a girl?" DH tells him we're having a girl to which he responds "so when you f* her you havin' a mummy/daughter threesome?" to which he and a bunch of lads filming laugh.

Suffice to say DH and I were not happy and it almost escalated into a full blown punch up. We've reported the incident to the police.

AIBU to think there should be more protections put in place particularly when it comes to rage baiting or just being obnoxious?

I think there should be more protections against filming people in a public place full stop. No doubt they were posting this on their socials for likes. There are so many of those accounts.

This is the way of the world now, kids filming to go viral. Its the same as its always been only the consequences feel worse.

Yes, it's getting out of hand. People jumping out behind things to scare others. Being interviewed when you don't feel comfortable. And those stupid AI glasses filming young women being chatted up only for men to mock them online.

It's all become quite nasty

Absolute dicks..law of averages say they'll fuck with the wrong person.

This is going to happen, and more often.

Urgh I've had someone film themselves trying to give me a rose before and I was so uncomfortable. God knows where they posted it or what the comments were, I really wish I'd smashed the phone out of his stupid selfie stick tbh.
