AIBU to wear a white patterned dress to a wedding?

I have bought a dress for a wedding next wwwj as I was really struggle to find something. The previous dress wasn’t ideal for the weather (it’ll be 32 degrees) and it had long sleeves.

Now I’m worried because it’s white. Obviously it has a pattern, but will it be okay?

That's fine imo. Once wore something very similar ( with a cardi in the same blue in case cool) before mumsnet times and no-one stared at me in horror 😂

I think thats fine OP. The blue is pretty dominant.

I was at a John Lewis styling event this morning and they said that many of the dresses for weddings were floral on a white background and that it was considered ok.

AliceAbsolum · 23/05/2026 18:47

Because of the amount of blue it's probably fine. Deffo pair it with colored shoes, bag, hat etc. No more white.

That's fine. It's blue flowers that happen to be on a white background. Obviously not bridal.

I’ve got rainbow coloured shoes.

100% fine. People are so weird about this idea you can't wear even a hint of white (or any pale shade that might possibly be construed as white from a distance) or you're a terrible person.

Absolutely fine

Absolutely fine and very normal. You just don't want to be looking like a member of the wedding party, this is fine as a base. I agree with no white accessories though lean into the blue.
