Help! Have I been scammed

I’ve had the YSL Loulou small handbag on my wish list for a long time! I found a seller online that has 100% positive feedbacks that are verified, I can see the past purchases that customers made and they are for other designer bags. So when I saw they have the Loulou, I sent them an offer, it was accepted and sent out the next day. The person even provided the receipt.

I was happy with the bag, however I was adamant to ensure it’s not a fake bc nothing is stopping someone having a genuine receipt but sending a fake bag with it or even forging a receipt. The bag itself to me looks very real, but I have only compared to what I can see online, the only thing that throws me off about the bag is the designer name inside the bag.

I’ll attach photos and if anyone can tell me what they think or if they have the same real bag, compare it to see it matches. The person seems so genuine, I’ve got til
monday to return the bag. I constantly keep going back and forth!

What platform did you buy it on ? Vinted verifications are perfunctory at best. Vestiare, on the other hand, I’d trust.

I’ve got two preloved designer bags. One I bought direct from a friend who has a serious passion for buying and collecting serious marques. The other is from a well known designer vintage store (which also sells on Vestiare).

No one wants to have been tricked into buying a fake; it taints the pleasure of the bag, plus you can’t resell the bag knowingly as genuine.

Two things. If its not genuine then I wouldn't want to pay a "real" price for it. The other thing is that owning fakes is illegal.

Illegal! Ha ha

Viviennemary · Yesterday 15:54

If you suspect it might be fake send it back. And pay extra from a shop. It's the only way to be sure unless you're an expert on fake bags.

butterfliesandrainbows2022 · Yesterday 15:55

also be careful they dont pretend they sent a real bag and you returned a fake, as i've seen that happen

beautyqueeen · Yesterday 15:58

What does it say under the designer? I’ve not seen than before, attached mine to compare.

This is why I don't get people buying labels. If you can't tell yourself, why do you care?

Completely agree. Fools and their money…

Imthefunfriend · Yesterday 16:02

The writing inside the real one looks much darker/thicker. Yours doesn’t look genuine.

BillieWiper · Yesterday 16:07

The hardware looks very yellow and yeah the writing looks sloppy which would never happen with a real one. I think it must be fake. Stitching looks too messy. Look at the stitches beneath the writing. All over the place.

Maybe from a distance it doesn't matter. But obviously if you've paid for real then you should try to get a refund.

StripyFrogs · Yesterday 16:07

You can buy fakes from China that come complete with dust bag, box and receipt.

A receipt is not any indication of an authentic product.

I don't get why people like you need to comment on posts when you have nothing constructive to say. Do you just get a kick out of being nasty?

I have already responded to comments on this.

Why be nasty? Life been hard?

oh calm down!

It was a joke. Many a teen love a brand.

Yes, I know teens love a brand but OP is clearly not buying something because she loves it, she's only wants it for the label which I think is odd for an adult.

I get that some people love and are prepared to spend on labels because they like the look of the product, but that's different to what OP is experiencing as she does like the look of it but doesn't want it without the label.

Sunshineandoranges · Yesterday 16:23

If you take it to a pawnbroker andsay you are think8ng of sell8ng they will tell you.

Mildorado · Yesterday 16:26

Can you show us the serial number and where it's stamped?
That's a good indicator.

DaisyChain505 · Yesterday 16:27

You haven’t stated where you purchased it from OP. Some sites do authenticity checks for you.

massivestress · Yesterday 16:30

Well I thought it was odd the NT were joined but it’s the same on the posters who owns the bag.
tbh I’d probably return it to stop worrying.

DaffodilLill · Yesterday 16:32

I was selling a bag- not exactly designer- but it was Coach. I had to provide multiple photos for Vinted before it could be listed.

Just a thought and I hope it isn't - but this could be a reverse where a potential seller is checking out the odds of trying to sell a fake.

user593 · Yesterday 16:33

This is my small Loulou (albeit in silver). Purchased in 2019/2020 from Matches, so I know it’s genuine, but it’s the older style bag.

massivestress · Yesterday 16:33

Same. Have to upload labels, everything. I’ve used Vestaire before for selling my pre-kids collection of single person stuff.

NoGarlic · Yesterday 16:34

Is that a line of text under Paris, maybe in Arabic? Seems strange, if so.

I think I agree about the quality of the stitching, too. It's hard to tell because your photos are out of focus - but I think you may have fallen for a fake. I'm very sorry. I hope you paid what you'd consider reasonable for a leather bag in this style, and will be able to use it with pleasure.
