Helping My 10-Year-Old Build Confidence in Football After Starting Later Than Others ⚽

y daughter is nearly 10 and has recently started football and absolutely loves it She currently does weekly training and has played a few friendly matches.
The issue is that a lot of the other children have clearly been playing for years so they are much more skilled/confident during matches. My daughter tends to stay more “on the edge” during games and isn’t always confident getting involved, which I completely understand as she’s still very new to it.
I’m not expecting her to become amazing overnight at all. I mainly just want to help build her confidence and basic skills so she feels more comfortable and involved during matches.
Apart from weekly training, what are the best things we can do at home/in the park to help her improve naturally and enjoy it more?
Any tips for:

  • confidence on the ball
  • simple drills
  • fitness/agility
  • helping children become braver in matches
  • YouTube channels/resources for beginners
  • things that helped your own child when starting later than others
She’s enthusiastic and keen to learn which I think is the most important thing

Not quite what you asked but she might enjoy going to a women's football match of you have a team nearby?

The tickets are much cheaper than the mens/sometimes they give out free ones to local schools and the atmosphere is much friendlier than at a men's match.
