I’ve been thinking about recruitment consultants and letting agents, and how similar their business models can feel from the outside.
Both often sit between people and something essential - housing or employment, and make money by inserting themselves into a process where the individual has relatively little leverage.
The dynamics are obviously different but in both cases it can feel like value is extracted without much being added, especially when things go wrong or when communication is poor.
AIBU to think the comparison isn’t completely unfair, even if the industries aren’t identical?
