Stale croissants instead of puff pastry?

As the title says...I've got pears and a couple of peaches on the turn so thinking tarte tatin..but forgot to get puff pastry...

Hmm, I’ve seen lots of recipes for croissant tatin but they all use raw croissant dough not cooked.

Could use the cooked croissants to make a bread and butter pudding with cooked fruit chunks mixed through?
