Any dentists please? Mouth and ear pain, need advice

Over the past couple of days I've been experiencing pain at the right lower side of my mouth where a wisdom tooth would be. I've also had ear ache and crackling on that side which started before the pain in my mouth. There's no redness or pus but it definitely feels like there's something in my gum. It feels like there's a big hard lump in my gum.

I had all four wisdom teeth removed several years ago so I'm not sure what's going on. I'm 41, female and generally healthy apart from anxiety disorder and panic disorder.

The next available appointment with my dentist is the 27th may but I did an online consultation with a pharmacist who thinks it could be an ear infection and has prescribed amoxicillin. I'm unsure if I should take them.

Thank you.

It does sound like an ear infection so definitely take the antibiotics @Pansypots

They will take ~1-3 days to kick in but at least you will get some relief.

If it clears up you'll also save the expense of going to your dentist.

Thank you. The ear pain and crackling started before the pain in my mouth.

If I get a bad cold it always makes my teeth ache. Sinus pain etc. Defo take the antibiotics.

Thank you. I've just taken one and am going for a nap.

I would say salt water gargle in mouth as well just make sure it's not infected gum
