To not want to take parcel round to my neighbour?

I recently moved to a new area. I received a parcel for the neighbour a few doors down without realising (it was in with about 7 others and I didn’t have time to check them all).

I tagged her on the neighbourhood WhatsApp group but she didn’t reply to me. So I sent her a DM, thinking she might not have seen it, which she read and ignored for 2 days. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was quite a large, heavy parcel, but I thought maybe she’s just busy so I brought it round to her. She answered the door and I said “hi I’m from number 6, your parcel was delivered to mine by mistake, so I just wanted to pop round with it.”

She didn’t even acknowledge that I was there, or look at me, just took it off me and closed the door.

Have I done something weird without realising? This is the first time I’ve lived in a smallish community type place, having previously been in flats in a city. I’ve seen her being friendly with other people too, which makes me paranoid that I’ve done something.

Now, have just received another delivery and the driver asked if I could take a parcel for a neighbour. I said yes and didn’t realise it was hers 😩 wwyd?

I would just wait for her to collect it and not bother to contact her after she was so rude to you previously. I hope its not too big and in your way. If she calls for it hand it over and close the door.

Put it somewhere out of sight so it's not bothering you and forget about it until she comes to get it. I definitely wouldn't take it round to her again.

Edited to say I don't think you've done anything weird at all, she just doesn't sound like a very nice person.

I wouldn't be doing her any favours and taking anything round again. You haven't done anything, she's just a cow.

She sounds odd!

Just say ‘sorry, no’ when the postman asks you to take hers in again.

I would be tempted to just dump it on her doorstep lol.

DH takes the hump about taking round neighbours parcels. He expects to tell them and they then come and collect the items themselves.

We waited almost a week for the bod next door to come and collect his high value Amazon delivery before Christmas. He didn't seem remotely fazed about having left it so long.

Note on the door. Only parcels for this address.

I actually didn’t think of this. Thank you 🤣🤣
