AIBU to expect breakdown cover to actually exist when I pay for it with my car insurance?

Two months ago I took out car insurance with a new provider. It included breakdown cover with Green Flag. This is stated on my receipt. I didn't receive any information about the breakdown cover so rang Green Flag who had not got my details.

I rang the insurance company - they will sort it and get back to me. They didn't on two occasions. Green Flag still haven't been given my details.

AIBU to make a formal complaint to the insurance company or is there another way to deal with this?

Is it that you have breakdown cover with Green Flag, or is it that you need to contact your insurer and they’ll sort you out via Green Flag themselves?

Probably very basic cover, no home start, tow you 10 miles or to nearest garage which ever is the shortest (Hope i'm wrong though)

Yes make an official complaint.

Who is the insurer or was it done via a broker?

Look on the bright side you haven't had to use it.
Young woman stuck in our high street yesterday in the middle of the road. Electric handbrake stuck on so can't move it and can't get to fix it.

Usual fb prats "why don't they push it to one side" " why hasn't the x garage helped" x garage are brilliant and can't help as they need to get the car on ramps to fix...not lay in the middle of road completely blocking it

Do you actually have to call GF direct or does the insurer have a specific number? Ours is via AA but you call the insurer if you need them and they send them out. Fwiw when I had GF via insurance they had a one hour attendance guarantee, call them when stranded in bitter weather with dc, saw them at just before an hour drive down a wrong turning, took another 10 minutes to arrive which went over the hour, was told by the driver I had given wrong address (I didn't as used a familiar shop as a Iandmark which was adjacent to and gave the road name and address) so got no compensation.
