I like my IT Luggage cases. I push two with one hand easily.

Do they connect together?

No, they don’t connect like the ones you’ve shown, but the handle heights are all the same, so I just hold the two handles in one hand and they push easily.

I can see the benefit of the ones you’ve posted if you have more than two cases, though.

Just get 2 and then a large elastic luggage strap?

Would they roll seamlessly though? I imagine them separating at the bottom

Just push two suitcases in one hand

MatCutter · Yesterday 09:55

I just put two normal suitcases back to back and hold both extended handles. There are several shops with suitcases where you can try this out. If you wanted to attach them then just get a ratchet strap or bungee to hold them together near the bottom. Easy to pack too. Mine are large Tripp ones that I have had for about 15 years. They have 4 wheels so can be pulled along behind you tipped, upright they push in all directions.

This is also about packing a case that doesn't want to topple when upright too. Plus whether attached together or just held together suitcases are fine inside an airport, flat ground help, once you are wheeling into lifts, to car parks, outside and crossing roads, much more difficult to maneuver. I was glad when the Dc were strong enough to manage their own case.

Id need to push two suitcases, manage dc, manage my carry on bag, get on and off the tube

I need something secure!

Sounds like the idea of two bags
back to back with a ratchet or luggage strap holding them together is good one. How old is the child you'll be with?

7, with autism so needs to be held on to

Maybe i can tie a luggage strap at the top and bottom of the suitcases 🤔

Could you not just use one slightly bigger suitcase and pack for both of you in one?

KitKatPitPat · Yesterday 10:05

Get two suitcases that are the same width if possible, then connect them with one luggage strap at the top and one at the bottom. Then just extend the handle of one and they’ll both roll along ok.

For the carry on either get the type with a loop on one side to put over the suitcase handles, or use another luggage strap to tie it onto the handles.

That way you can control your suitcases and carry on with one hand, you have another hand free for your child.

We definitely need two suitcases for the luggage allowance

And don’t be afraid to use reins if your child will accept it, much easier if you’re in crowded places, and means you still can have a hand fairly free (put the reins around your wrist).

Thank you, will have to try this out

Will have a safety tether attached to me and dc, its just getting on and off the tube I worry about, plus the heaviness - 56 kg in total

OP posts:
Shocke · Yesterday 10:13

Why do you need 56kg?! Does anyone actually take that much anymore?

As pp said, just hold the two handles together.

You don’t have to use the luggage allowance though.

It's going to be awkward managing any type of combo like that on the tube, especially if you're travelling during rush hour. You'd struggle to get 2 cases together up/down escalators etc. That's without even having a child you need to hold on to!

Tbh I'd just buy a couple of cheap cases and use the money you save on an uber.

Justanothergeneric · Yesterday 10:22

I bought a long strip of velcro from Amazon for this scenario and then used it to tie the two suitcase handles together at top and bottom of the handle.

OP won’t be able to navigate the tube system using escalators, it will have to be stations with lift access she uses. OP is there any way to avoid using it?

Seriously - you know that’s 9 stone? Is this a cheap way of getting a whole other person to come with you?

Its so expensive for the uber, at least £50 each way 😫

Its one tube for us, and i'm near a station with a lift thankfully

We definitely couldnt use an escalator
