Gifts that may have been recalled - asbestos

DC recently had a birthday party and was given a couple of gifts, that could have done the rounds in regifts so not newly purchased and could be quite old (pre recall & testing). One is a dino dog style toy and one is sand related. I have checked and I can't see they have been recalled but cant be sure. They are by the makers of the recalled products. These toys could be 4 years old and so not tested or newly purchased so post asbestos issues. Would you just get rid of them or is that being too paranoid? I wouldn't feel comfortable regifting them.

If you are going to feel worried about it and your dc has other presents from the party I would quietly get rid of them.

Id still do a thank you card/note and not say anything to the giver

Forgot to say I've done similar with toys I didn't want the dc to bave eg a toy gun etc and just quietly binned it when they weren't looking and they never noticed

To be fair at the moment anything sand related I would absolutely not allow any play with, it seems like every day there's a new recall on all sorts of sand based play items.
