AIBU to spend £200 to £250 sizing up toddler clothes?

Just that really. How much do you spend when baby/ toddler goes up a size?

Going up to 12-18 months size and we haven't had any hand-me-downs this time (I got lots for younger baby but people seem to have stopped now!)

I reckon I've spent somewhere between £200-£250 on the lot including coats, shoes etc.

50% Vinted/ supermarket stuff,
30% mid range like Next and H&M,
20% more pricey brands like a couple of nice tops/ dungarees from JoJo (still mostly in the sale though!)

Is that about normal? Or do you tend to get all your stuff secondhand/ from supermarkets at this age?

I know they grow so fast and make a mess at nursery etc, but still want to have a few nice things.

We earn OK and can afford it (and £100 was gifted from family), but DH thinks I've spent a lot given they grow so fast.

Just wondered what others tend to do and AIBU to think this is not too extravagent?

Not at all. We spend about 1 k a year on kids clothes- we do pass them down though after but we find it we buy decent brands it allows for that as they wear well. I find by the time you’ve bought coats, shoes wellies , summer winter outfits it costs a lot. But yes to passing on!

I’m in a similar situation. It’s going to cost £20-25 for decent bodysuits. Yes I could get them cheaper but then I’d buy twice. Maybe £30-40 for a big multipack of tops and leggings staples. Couple of hoodies and cardigans, throw in another £30. Decent coat will be £20-25. Shoes probably £60-80, two pairs and wellies. 5-6 nicer outfits, £70-80. PJs £25-50 depending how many you buy. And of course a million pairs of socks! Things are expensive now

Boot sales and school fairs /jumble sales tend to be far cheaper than Vinted or charity shops.

Short and long sleeved, and he wears short sleeve ones to sleep in so need 2 packs or would have to wash them constantly. One pack of long sleeved for daytime.
