AIBU to think Chris Moyles would be a great replacement for Sara Cox on the Radio 2 tea time slot?

There’s no way Chris Moyles will get a gig with BBC again now. There’s been lots of publicity recently about his Charlotte Church ‘coming of age’ countdown back in the day. He’s firmly established on Radio X anyway.

Not a bloody chance they’d have Moyles on Radio 2, or anywhere on the BBC, he was enough bother when he was on R1 and his show is still stuck in that era anyway, very dated.

My mum always liked him because we’re from the same sort of area as him so she’d listen when he had the breakfast slot on radio 1. I’ll never forget him mocking the shit out of Fall Out Boy. They were my favourite band at the time and I’ve just never liked him since. He’s a bit of a twat.

He should never have had a radio show in the first place. He reminds me of blokes that used to cat call and make lewd comments to passing women off scaffolding on building sites. He belongs in that era. Leave him there.

I adored him in the 90s and 00s or whenever he was on R1 breakfast show. Listened every single day without fail. He was irreverent and fresh at the time and funny, although yes the twat bit was part of his persona.

Since he came back to radio I absolutely can't fucking stand him. He's tired and dated now, not funny at all and needs to drop the 'im a massive twat' persona. It doesn't wash any more. He's not changed what he does at all. No way would or should R2 take him on.

I imagine the pay is better at Radio X & think he prefers breakfast shows, so don’t think he’d want it even if offered (which seems unlikely).
I don’t think you can compare the Charlotte Church comment with the things others have done but it does seem to get brought up a lot when other DJs/presenters are sacked.
I find him entertaining & about a million others listen to the radio show so I’m not the only one (although heart & radio 1 get four times that).
