I’m going to try my had at making dips using my new blender and I am hoping not to be disappointed! Can anyone recommend their best salsa, guacamole, and hummus recipes! I’d love to know what works! I’m hoping to create better than I normally buy from the shop! Thanks in advance 😊

I make pizza crust dip every Saturday night, pizza night!
It's mayonnaise, greek yoghurt, blue cheese, pickle juice, lime juice, fish sauce and Frank's hot sauce 😋

I don’t have a particular recipe I just improvise. I roast carrots, tomatoes, red peppers, courgettes and then whiz them all or some of them and add other ingredients e.g olives, nuts, herbs, humus, feta, etc basically whatever is available.

I’ll be honest, the ones you mentioned do not need a mixer, they are best not puréed. But my guacamole recipe is 4 ripe avocados which I smash with a fork, juice and zest of one lime, half pack coriander chopped finely, red chilli deseeded and chopped finely, 1/2 - 1 red onion chopped finely, a few cherry tomatoes chopped into quarters (or smaller if big), olive oil to bring it together and season with seasalt. (Sub the coriander for parsley if you don’t like the former)

hummus is 1 can chickpeas drained (reserve the liquid for later) 1 glove garlic grated/crushed, 1 heaped teaspoon tahini, generous squeeze lemon I then use a pestle and mortar to mix but you can use a blender, season with salt and pepper to taste and add the reserved liquid to achieve desired thickness/ consistency

Hummus made with butter beans instead of chickpeas:

Drained tin of butterbeans
tablespoon of tahini
juice of a lemon
As much garlic as you prefer (roast it in the skins then pop out into the mix for a different flavour if you can be bothered otherwise raw is fine)
salt and pepper
dash of paprika

whizz until smooth

so much creamier and delicious than regular hummus

Smoked mackerel fillets (skin off)
Cream cheese
Lemon juice
Spicy seasonings, chilli powder or cayenne pepper or whatever you prefer
Blitz!
