Vinted Postage Choices

Can anyone explain postage choices on Vinted? As a seller, I have edited my list of couriers that I can/will use. I deleted Royal Mail as an option. This week I sold an item and when I opened the label it was Royal Mail!

But, as a buyer, there is never a menu to select which courier I wish to use. I just pay the final amount and wait and see which courier brings the parcel. (Always crossing my fingers it's not Yodel if I want something quickly.)

Another small irritation is that sometimes I'm required to print a postage label, sometimes not, even when using the same courier.

I've read other posts where people talk about selecting a courier, but I cannot see how. Anyone out there no the answer?

TIA

Yes - well with regard to the first bit - someone had a thread on this the other day.

Basically, the answer is, Vinted override your choices.

There is a pop up, when you make your postage preferences, that explains if the buyer chooses a way to ship that you don't offer, Vinted may override it, if it's better for the buyer.

The consensus was, they do it for their benefit (not the buyers), to keep sales numbers up. You can apparently cancel the transaction - with no detriment to you - if this happens. But then if they do it all the time you'd be continuously cancelling sales, so no idea how that's supposed to work.

No idea about your other point though.

As a buyer, I always choose Evri for delivery because the delivery guy is the nicest and knows where to leave my parcels safely. There is a drop-down with each purchase.

I absolutely hate inpost.

Here you go....

I think they've changed some Small Parcel postage to Large Letter too, in the last few days, which is also causing issues when sellers have to try to fit something in a LL that simply won't go....

So how do you choose Evri? All I get is a pay now pop-up, but no courier choices. We also have a great Evri driver, but local InPost is really good here.

Yes, I've had this too this week! Only have In post, either locker or home delivery as it's closed to work and I can pop out in my lunch a break. Sold something on Sunday and it was for Royal Mail. Spent my whole lunch break in Monday queuing in the Post Office with it. Checked my settings and Royal Mail isn't selected. Really frustrated.

Kitkate21 · 13/05/2026 18:46

Ive had this too! Only with small parcels. So I just use medium for everything and not had that issue again and I've sold plenty

There is. When you’ve bought something and you select “deliver to home” it’ll probably come up with the box saying “Evri £2.99” or whatever. But if you click that box it opens up a list of other options you can select.

PuppyMonkey · 13/05/2026 18:52

And interestingly, when I’ve done the above recently, Royal Mail has been cheapest…

Getmeacoffeenow · 13/05/2026 19:24

Yep I only have InPost available because I refuse to print or go to the post office for £2 items and the InPost locker is next door to my house.

This week someone ordered via Royal Mail and I had to cancel, so annoying!

Hmm. I only remember it saying "from £2.29"
No mention of courier name at that stage.
perhaps I need to look more closely next time I buy something!
thanks

You need to click on the little pencil and it opens up the options. I still get buyers sometimes selecting ever or Royalmail despite me only having Inpost as an option. Vinted just tell me to cancel it, they say they still allow buyers to select other options despite your settings only supposed to allow the ones you have selected. If this happens message buyer and select agreed with buyer when cancelling. It stops the auto negative feedback.

Thanks @Gertibear that's interesting!

I bought something this morning and I didn't get that, just the top bit! Then to top it all off when I'd paid it said InPost, ooh good I thought until it only gave me the printed label option, not just download a QR code 😂

I'm starting to take it personally ...

I started the linked thread the other day.
I have serious rage over this matter.
Vinted has gone so downhill .

BigBrownBoogyingBear · 14/05/2026 16:45

I sold something as a small parcel, which then defaulted to 'large letter' via Royal Mail. I couldn't fit it into a large letter envelope but printed the postage label and sent it anyway - it arrived absolutely fine!
