I regret asking for stuff

A friend of my husband and I offered to give some of her son's stuff when I announced my pregnancy. She said if it's a boy she can give me a lot of stuff including breast pump she didn't use. So last week I was planning to buy some baby clothes and decided to ask her when I can take it. We arranged a date but on the day she cancelled saying her partner is not well.

She said if we could do it another time and that's it. I said it's fine and hope he feels better. A colleague of mine also said she would give me stuff but nothing so far.

I got a little annoyed from the first one and bought almost everything over the last few days. Am I being reasonable? I just find it a waste of time waiting around for people. I also wish that I didn't ask her in the first place as it seems like begging.

When is the baby due?

Depends how far along you are. If the baby is imminent then yes annoying. If you are seven months or less then what’s your hurry? They probably think they still have weeks yet to give you the items.
