AIBU to feel put off by my partner’s grooming habits?

My DP isn’t seemingly bothered about his appearance,
Unless I mention stuff e.g. getting his haircut , he just won’t do it. He gets cross if I mention anything.
He’s got nose hair, recent ear hair that I’ve noticed and lets his beard grow quite scraggly before trimming it, but I have to mention it a few times before he will. Then he gets upset with me for bringing it up.
He does shower daily but he will occasionally leave the house without doing.
One thing he has got going for him is a slim, toned body as he does lots of exercise.

It’s really becoming a turn off for me.

Stop having sex with him. OR stop shaving/waxing your armpits, legs, vulva (or whatever grooming you do). Let your top lip and chin hair grown in.

When we first got together he wasn’t like this.

Sounds like hes doing his best, hence getting upset

Is he depressed?

Yanbu but I dont know how you'd resolve this, he has to want to care for himself

I'd be looking at other issues in his life as to whats making him seemingly unhappy

How long ago was that?

Just ask why the change in habits.
It's tricky, but you need to talk about it.
