AIBU to think box hair dye root touch ups should cost less than a full head?

sorry this is so boring but why are they more expensive? Saw a new L'Oréal permanent root touch up today and thought ooooh that looks good, but £8!! I might as well get a full box for that.

I’ve got short hair and find there’s never enough dye in those and they’re a faff. I always do my roots with a semi perm full box.

Personally I just use whatever normal box dye I've done my head with, mix a bit 50/50 in a ramekin to touch up my roots and reseal it, lasts ages that way.

Most boxes of hair dye now say you need two boxes if your hair is long so in that way they’re not

ooooh does it still work? That could be a game changer for me

Yes, it's no different from mixing up the whole bottle - just decant what you need, same amounts of toner and developer and mix it in a small bowl using anything not metal. Obviously unscrew the developer and pour it out, don't break the seal, so you can seal it up again.

I do it over about 2 months for touch ups and then get another 2 boxes, one to do full head and another for touch ups.

Just use half of a full one.
