ID'd for laxatives at 30

Why do I need ID to buy laxatives? I am so constipated and bloated. I tried to explain to the clerk that I'm 30 and have a buy to let mortgage.

Surely you can appreciate the constraints retail workers are under though?
They have to ID for medication.

DH and I were IDd in B&M this week as he was buying a hacksaw. It amused us hugely as we are both over 60 and retired. They didn't ask to see ID - but they called a supervisor over to have a hard look at us and 'authorise' it.

We debated all the way home how you 'authorised' someone buying a hacksaw. Did they check we didn't look like we were going to go on a killing spree? Or cut up a body with it? Did DH look like a carpenter? Did I?

They were probably making sure there was clear CCTV in case you are disposing of a body.

I was ID'd for alcohol when I was in my 40s, I was delighted.
