To be sick to death of marches

Another day, another bloody march in our local city. Centre inaccessible, can’t park. Ended up giving up and going home. Wonder how city centre business owners feel. AIBU to just wish marches could be banned for 6 months or so, or at least ordered to stay put on an off-road area somewhere rather than blocking all the roads?

I was really looking forward to our day out for various reasons and it’s been ruined

I understand
When I lived in London, I didn't used to go in on a Saturday. It became a complete no for me.

I realise people need the freedom to go on marches but at the moment it feels like it's turned into a hobby for some.

they need permits, don't they? Or is that only if they're over a certain size? So perhaps a permit could be granted on alternate weekends.

I agree but tbh even alternate weekends seems ridiculous. We used to have a protest twice a year, now it’s 2 weekends out of 3. It’s giving me compassion fatigue.

Yeah, maybe every other weekend is more realistic for London. You've had a hell of a jump in protests then.

I'm sorry your day out was ruined 💐
