Cafcass messing about

For the third time in 2 weeks CAFCASS have cancelled, on the day, a meeting with myself and my child. This is for a section 7 report.

I work full time and commute so all of these meetings have meant arranging the day off work, only for it to be cancelled last minute.

Meanwhile, my young child is suffering through the interim court order, where they are so upset by going with their Father that they are wetting themselves, injuring themselves by head banging on the floor (not normal behaviour at all for my child), and sudden refusal to go to nursery on any day (think this is due to it being where hand overs happen). They are unable to happen in person between us due to previous domestic abuse.

AIBU to be upset and not know what to do about it?

No YNBU. It sounds very difficult. Cafcass officers are often chronically unreliable because of high caseloads.

I feel for you and I hope it gets easier over time.

Thank you. I understand they will be very busy, it’s just an awful system for everyone
