To be annoyed BAM Clothing have sent me an email saying the top I bought 3 weeks ago is now nearly half price?

I've thrown the packaging and returns label away but the top still has labels on and I haven't worn it so I guess I could send it back, get a refund and rebuy it, but it's a faff.

I understand things drop in price and some you win some you lose but sending the email seems to rub salt into the wound.

What would you do? It's a £35 difference in price.

I'd send it back
£35 is a lot

ultracynic · 03/05/2026 13:03

I’d email them and ask them to refund the difference (or credit your account) otherwise you’ll send it back. If they won’t, I’d order a new one then return it as the original order

Grow up - clothes are often put on sale.

Gosh, harsh. I did say I understood that but I guess you just get a kick out of being nasty.

'Grow up' isn't the mic drop you think it is by the way, if you're in the habit of saying this in real life. Except I expect you don't say it when you're not hiding in the internet

I'd buy another at the discounted price and return it as the original order.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 03/05/2026 13:39

I’d prob be vaguely irritated but let it go. Shit happens.

Getmeacoffeenow · 03/05/2026 13:56

For £35 quid I’d send it back. Once asos has a 25% off sale on nearly everything just after I’d done a big shop. I ordered it again and sent it all back.

Rude. This is AIBU not “any excuse to be a c u next Tuesday”.

That’s really poor email marketing- how frustrating!

EmeraldRoulette · 03/05/2026 14:54

I have tried calling and asking when things have been reduced

there's always a lovely sympathetic person telling me I've got to send it back 😂

But she's right! All products end up in sale unless they sell out. If everyone did what you're considering, retail would go bust. It's a pretty low thing to do.

If you don't want to pay full price for things, shop in the sales to start with.

My issue is the email telling me I am going to be delighted that the item is reduced.

And whether a person is right or wrong being rude isn't the way to go. My comment is about her rude response.
