Alcohol.

BitOutOfPractice · 02/05/2026 22:52

I agree with you op. A garden.

All I want to go in a garden is sit out in it. Other than that it’s just another chore. I hate gardening. I’ll stick with my sunny balcony with a great view thanks.

How can something be a necessary luxury? Isn’t the definition of luxury something you don’t need?

Omg the stress i'd feel as spring came around, knowing i'd have to get out there and mow 🥺🥺🥺! Completely agree

If i won the lottery, i'd buy a flat in Central london, with a balcony that let's me people watch 😍

I dunno 😄, I couldn't think of another way to phrase the aibu

I type the aibu first and then the post - ai isnt getting me!

Maybe because people think a garden necessary when moving somewhere but not everyone who wants one can have one

Alcohol.

The hangovers

The hangxiety

The eating greasy food to soak up the alcohol

Youre not wrong

I sort of agree about the garden. I’d be most happy with a balcony and some communal green space (maintained by someone else).

I’d quite like to be car free as well in the long run. Living somewhere with good public transport options and maybe just using a car club or something when the need arose.

Epicuriouss · 02/05/2026 23:22

A big house. Had one, hated it, now exist happily in my cosy wee nest.

Just so much to keep clean!

I hated everything about house living myself but its one of those things you have to get, like you getting your big house, to realise that the grass isnt greener 😄

Mine is laziness tbh - going downstairs to make breakfast and then taking it back upstairs to eat was exhausting

You need to be in a big city 👀

I love having a car but if youre super central, you'd only need one for the big shop and trips to ikea 😄

Make up, hair products (bar basic shampoo and conditioner) and skin creams.

FartyAnimal · 02/05/2026 23:29

Travelling abroad. I love being there but the travelling puts me off. Airports, planes, bags , queuing, delays, cancellations...

We’ve a big enough house and I miss our old houses/ apartments. Cleaning takes forever and it’s not just because it’s old, it’s just the floor space

Yeah agree with this - in my head i'm a traveller - but even the thought of half an hour in the car puts me off of going out these days 😩😩

Do you have areas that you just dont use so they'll stay clean?

I think you'd need to be a millionaire to afford the creams these influences tell you to buy

Nope, have 4 kids a dog and a cat and not tons of rooms, they’re just all big!

HarrietSchulenberg · 02/05/2026 23:38

En suite bathroom.
Dishwasher.
Alcohol other than a good pint with friends.

Ahh you've a proper house full 😄

Its only me and dd and dcat in a two bed - i still would like to seal off rooms so I dont have to clean them!

Ooo why the dishwasher?

I presume the en suite is due to the extra cleaning?

Although if you lived alone, it might be less cleaning, as the main bathroom would be for guests 👀

Why not? 👀

Electric ones are quite good?
