To say no pair of jeans on earth will fit me, look good and feel comfortable?

I am mid forties, 5ft 2in, about 8 stone 3lbs. Generally a size 10. Objectively pretty slim and should be no problem to dress. My lower stomach area definitely is a bit out of proportion, I have been told I have moderate adenomyosis and I wonder if that’s the cause. I basically am slim but look 14 weeks pregnant.

I have such a problem with jeans and most trousers. High waisted look great standing but when I sit down they cut me in two. Most jeans that fit standing, even lower waisted, I can’t bear once I sit down.

Yes this is a tiny ans first works problem but can anybody recommend any jeans or trousers? I have got a couple of pairs of hush cords with a fabulous elastic waist but honestly because I’m short they do look a bit frumpy.

Just to add, if I go up a size, eg to size 12 they are falling down when I’m standing an walking. If I add a belt I’m back to the problem of looking good while upright but unbearably tight when sitting.
Also have tried stretch material such as M&S Sienna type jeans but it doesn’t solve it.

If you will wear longish tops, presumably maternity jeans would resolve the discomfort issue?

What do you do for normal trousers?

Halara Flexâ„¢ High Waisted Pockets Baggy Wide Leg Washed Casual Jeans

I have these from The Halara. So soft and comfy.

Thanks so much! Great suggestions! For normal trousers M&S wide legs are good for work but I have similar issues and have spent a fortune on trousers that seem ok in the changing room and end up in the charity shop.

Another vote for Halara, stretchy and comfortable

Tubofgold · 02/05/2026 16:18

Is it all Halara or just the ones that look kind of maternity?

I only have those ones from Halara
