What phrases do you hate? It gives me the rage when my mum says put up and shut up. I know that some things are not within my control and that i have to do things i don't like.

Yep, 'cis' woman boils my blood too!

I am a woman, not a fecking cis woman! Hmm

Alleluia.

ItWasAlwaysMaybelline · Yesterday 07:28

'H' pronounced 'haitch'.

ThePoliteLion · Yesterday 09:32

“Blue-lighted”
”Picky bits”

Growlybear83 · Yesterday 09:34

I think ‘chippy tea’ is just as bad as ‘picky bits’.

SPENNY

oh my life no

Lomonald · Yesterday 09:36

Oh I thought of another one "sweet treats" i saw it on Facebook this morning a market stall selling "sweet treats" i had a bit of rage bubbling 😡

How about smorgasbord?

I think you'll either love or hate that alternative.

My partner gets it wrong though and says can you make up a shmortice board 😆

“Buffet”?

“Buffet”?

You're not likely to make a buffet just for yourself though. (Mind you, I'd be happy with a buffet all to myself!)

"Not a problem" said by the cashier in a store when I've paid and said thank you.

Oh yes, this one. I feel like saying, well I'm relieved to hear I haven't caused a problem by paying for my shopping! I also hate it when for example I'm booking a holiday on the phone, they ask what airport I'd be flying from, I tell them. "Perfect!" they say. "How many nights?" "14" "Perfect!"

"jumping" in the shower

I tried it once and slipped. Not recommended 🚿

My DH "jumps through the shower". I'm glad he doesn't actually do it, he'd break the shower tray.

Tell me you’re ..without telling me you’re

I see it often on MN usually served with sarcasm.

I also hate it is what it is 😡

I hate Tell me you're.... with a passion. I find it ridiculous.

I hate the word mufti, someone used it on a thread the other day and I felt rage stirring.

Things 'dropping' like films, music clothes. Again saw it on here on an advert thread title. No way was I clicking on that

Also almost anything 'gentle' or 'kind'. Totally overused. Gentle reminder, can you kindly etc

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · Yesterday 10:05

" just like that" is actually a Tommy Cooper quote - decades before the US usage.

Growlybear83 · Yesterday 10:06

‘Date nights’ for people who are married or who live together. It’s not a date, you’re just going out for a meal, to the pub etc.

Kingsleadhat · Yesterday 10:09

So many .but at the moment the comment "there I fixed it for you" as a response on social media - even if I agree with the poster's point, it drives me up the wall. So smug and such a cliche posing as wit

ConnieHeart · Yesterday 10:27

Why so. As in why so sad? Why so angry? I always think they're missing out "are you".

Exactly! Real cringe inducer for me.

People who think that piece of furniture that you keep your underwear in a draw.

what is that all about? Is that down to accents? A chest of draws.

"Put my big girl pants on" fills me with indescribable rage. Also reminds me of all that weird 'adult baby' shite.

It’s possibly the worst thing you read on here. Awful.

MaturingCheeseball · Yesterday 12:52

All of these! One I hate is “so fun” . No!!! It’s such fun!!!

I was very pleased to read in The Spectator about others’ visceral hatred of “picky bits”. It makes me shudder. Sounds so precious , picking at things like a very speshul gannet.

MyLilacBeaker · Yesterday 12:52

"Its giving" i hate that with so much Passion!

beautifuldaytosavelives · Yesterday 12:58

‘Get in the bin’ - only seen on here. Completely stupid.
