Hi MN,
Posting here for traffic, wondering if anyone’s experienced similar and can suggest any possible treatment/answers!?
I’ve seen a GP, NP and Physio. On the waiting list for a scan. No diagnosis or treatment as yet. In a nutshell:
-I have constant pain (anything betwen 1-10? In my upper right leg - can be hip flexor, flute, knee upper thigh or just everywhere. Occasionally goes away for an entire day, usually pretty bad, sometimes I cannot walk at all.
-Yoga/pilates seems to help. I can no longer do running or cardio.
-Has been ongoing for 4 months.
-I am peri-menopausal in late 40s
-I’m on HRT
-Hot/cold packs and ibuprofen don’t seem to work, paracetamol does a bit.
Feel so defeated and frustrated.
All suggestions/ideas and thoughts welcome.
Am so active usually and my mental health is starting to be impacted.
So grateful if anyone can help me 💐

See a good sports physiotherapist. I have similar issues, right now I have pain in left knee and right foot.
But it's much less than it used to be since seeing a sports physio and a personal trainer.

A long shot.. but a friend was telling me that she gets agonising pain in her lower legs and feet. I don’t know all the details but she has been told she’s hypermobile and when she does too much she gets the pain once she’s stopped and her ligaments are relaxed.

Apparently the answer for her is orthotics in her shoes and strength training.

Any chance you have hypermobile joints?

I’m not medical but I get a lot of pain in my legs at night and magnesium supplements have really helped me

Have you seen a podiatrist? Could be worth checking your gait and/or whether your ankles or heels are weak or unsupportive - myself and two others I know all had different unexplained pain and it all came back to the ankles!

Thanks so much for your replies!
…it is worse at night - I’ll definitely try magnesium - thank you. Re podiatrist & sports physio that sounds like a good idea too.
Had a sports massage where leg felt horrific after then pain-free for two days.
