That’s wonderful op. It’s great for your ds to have great adults in his life as role models.

It's very nice that you can all clearly get along for your kids sake!

I wish we had a similar relationship or even one slightly civil with my DHs ex. We invite her and her mother and her now husband to DSS birthday party every year and since he is 5 (now 14) not once have they bothered to attend.

I dread the events like school graduation etc where she will make everything awkward instead of just being able to sit in a xivil manner in the same room as us.

I hope you all enjoyed the meal! And more so that your son enjoyed it!

It is nice, my husband and me always celebrate my stepdaughter’s birthday with her mum and boyfriend because my stepdaughter said years ago that she she hated having two birthdays.
Theres been times over the years that we’ve spent part of Christmas Day together.
Im lucky that my husband’s ex wife has gone out of her way to be friendly with me and I’m glad there’s no drama and we get on.

My dh takes my ex to football, ex also comes for my adult kids’ birthday dinners. Dh says he does it as it makes my son happy. Doesn’t make me too happy as ex was emotionally abusive to our kids when they were little, but I put a smile on my face for my kids’ sake. I love his partner so that makes it bearable!
