I’ve had enough. I can’t leave obviously but I really really want to πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

What are you despairing with? Too early, volume, fighting? How old are they?

Srghhhy · 25/04/2026 07:48

@Phonicshaskilledmeoff 3. Been awake since 5:30. Constant noise. Questions. Mess. Not even 8am

DD is an adult now but I'm sending solidarity to you, sister!

I kinda feel your pain! We have a cat who has decided 5am is an acceptable time to start his protest for breakfast! Luckily hubs gets up for work at 6! Said cat is now asleep on the spare bed snoring loudly and I’m wide awake after hoping for another sleep once hubs went to work!

I sympathise, but noise is good. You know what they are up to. It's when it goes quiet you need to worry.

Top tip. Put the big pot of glitter on a high shelf.

This will pass, enjoy it as best you can because before you blink you will be having to pitchfork them out of bed if you want them up before midday.

Mine are older now but I remember this. SP from whe they were 3/5 so weekends could be a shift! DS never woke later than 5.30 for years. By 9 we would have done traintrack, TV, a card game, breakfast, books, a bath just to kill time. Once dd was up we would take a slow walk into town via a farm with animals to look at, invent some minor errands. Go to a cheap cafe and slow uphill walk back. Early afternoon by then so maybe TV or garden or puzzles or something. Sometimes swimming, park or soft play or go to a set of grandparents. Dinner bath and bed routine could start about 5, bed for 7ish. I work ft so Sundays needed to be more homemade to get chores done..oh supermarket trip took up an hour or so too. I've made it sound fun and it was mostly ok but could be relentless and lonely. So you have family, playmates, nearby woods or countryside? Puddlesuits are your friend.
