Do you ever just get paid and think seriously is this it… I got paid this morning 3100 was put into my account, I transferred 1400 to the joint for bills and household expenses. And I’m left with the rest, but when I look at it, I just think, is this it? Anyone else? Just feeling a bit defeated today! I know to some people this is a lot of money. But these days it really doesn’t feel like it. Come and join for a moan

Almost nobody getting a 20k bonus to start with is anything other than a parasite in society offering little. I'm sure there are a tiny number of fringe cases that might not be and you will claim to be one, but very few.

Edited

a parasite, paying taxes and working in a job that contributes to society (most jobs do).

if all salaries were capped at minimum wage how do you think the government would earn enough in taxes to fund all they do? Income tax would massively reduce with vat also being severely hit.

Yes

In that case, then yes! - I can agree as similar figures here. It looks on paper that we should have plenty left but we absolutely do not. Like you, we work hard and it feels monotonous and a bit “is that all there is…?”
May I ask if your pension is topped up/maxed out? So that you at least have that to look forward too.
I do understand that many on here also work hard and take home a lot less and I sympathise . But some on here don’t work or work a lot less and then moan about their situation. I tell my children…
There’s always a choice…getting up at 5.30am to get three children out so you can go to work 5 days a week is hard… having no money is hard. Choose your hard!

my employer pays 10% and I pay in 7% but my annual bonus also goes into my pension. That was an extra 4k this year. I could pay more but tbh I need the cash right now.
