Feeling to give up on being a career mum

Currently I am working mum who works 40hrs. although I am also young, I’m working with lots of young career driven Individuals who throw all their life into their career and have no children. I’ve became really disinterested in even keeping up, to even try and be as keen as everyone else.

ive just got to the point where I’m tired. I feel I’m living in a constant state of stress and I can feel it. I’m ready to just give up and forget being a career mum.

has anyone got any advice? because at this point everything just feels wrong. I feel like I’m not going down the path of where I can find happiness.

You have two jobs - mum and employment - competing for your time, energy and care.

In a similar situation I was happy to make a compromise and let my career stall whilst I enjoyed motherhood. I had a boss who chose differently - hired a nanny, became a senior leader . She did rather look down on the rest of us mere mortals, but frankly I wouldn’t have wanted to be her.

My kids are no longer babies but I’m still not anxious to chase the big successful career. I am content.

If you will feel more content just doing the bare minimum at work and not getting promotions then You Do You.
