Name changed, as this procedure happened today and work colleagues know.

I have Crohn’s disease and have had multiple colonoscopies and sigmoidoscopies over the past 10 years.

Had my colonoscopy today and for the first time they have found multiple polyps in my rectal area (fab)! They took multiple biopsies throughout my bowel as usual, but I’ve never had polyps found and now multiple. Last sigmoidoscopy must have been around two years ago, so these polyps have appeared since then.

Two polyps were removed but one was >10mm (piecemeal - whatever that means) and this would need removal and be removed once the Consultant looked at the scope findings. Was told that I would receive further info once the biopsy results were in. But likely I would require a further sigmoidoscopy to remove the larger polyp.

I’m only posting here for your polyp experiences and ask what happened in your case. I’m trying not to overthink but there we I go.

i’ve posted part of my results (hopefully)! There were multiple biopsies taken throughout my bowel due to my Crohn’s (which currently is in remission) but I’ve never not taken a screenshot of the rectal polyps, which is all new to me. 🙄

That last sentence doesn’t make sense.

I’ve never had polyps come up in my scopes and now multiple.
