To have separate weekends away with Dc to have some space?

We live away from family, so never really get a break. Babysitters are very expensive for more than a few hours.
I dream of a whole weekend to myself (who doesn’t…!)
I was wondering if it would be a good idea, I go away for the weekend with Dd for a mum-daughter trip, maybe a hotel with pool, room service. Then she does a Daddy-daughter time with Dh for the weekend, I know he wants to go camping. This way we both get a fun weekend, but then a rest weekend
I can’t imagine being alone for the whole weekend
I think i’d order in or get a load of my favourite foods, wine (barely drink these days) favourite books, Netflix & stay in pjs all weekend!
Have you/would you do this? What would you do with your weekend?
Or should we continue just doing little breaks as a family?

Sounds great

Super idea! Your DD will love the extra attention as well.

Great idea!

It’s whether Dh loves the idea…! I do the majority of things, so whereas this would be a break for me, not as much for him

All the more reason for you to pursue this. When discussing with him, I would focus on the benefits to both him and your DD of having special time to develop their relationship + how great it would be for him to have weekends off to relax sometimes. 😉

Why not? Everyone could do with a weekend to themselves from time to time and if you're both getting a turn, it's perfectly fair!

It's a great idea. Our family set up is different but each parent has a trip away with one child each year and the child loves it - and loves the variety of different parents choosing different things.

We do this and I think it’s great. We regularly do days out like this too through out the year.
