To think no one can SERIOUSLY want Starmer to go now, it’s media created instability designed to damage the UK.

trump, wars, Israel invading Lebanon, US mid terms…….

it would mental for Starmer to go and it’s a trap.

yabu - of course Starmer has to go, despite what is happening in the world right now.

yanbu - time to move on and deal with trump and the blatant manipulation of the media by Russia, right wing billionaire interests.

Labour have more than 400 MPs.

If they really don't have anyone that's good enough to replace the guy whose own advisers thought it's best he doesn't get told that he's lying, and he never asked if what he's saying is true, then we need a General Election very soon.

Yes, we do, but trouble is that the next generation of MPs and ministers will be just as useless as the current crop and the previous crop. It's all the same, whichever party colour, and has been for 30 years now.

A new leader or a new government - someone would have to be pretty thick to think that anything would change.

And that what to do with their competence? O’Donnell is widely regarded as one of the most competent heads of the civil service ever.

They got the law wrong.

Or the Gus-GOD who isn't the wrong Gus-GOD lauded the Antonia Romeo who definitely did get the law wrong.

There are some weirdly unlikely comments on this thread.

Why should any opposition party support Starmer? Why should any voter support Starmer? Why shouldn’t any newspaper or broadcaster ask difficult questions and cast doubt on Starmer’s account?

If it’s all about stability we’d do a lot better by getting rid of Starmer the walking disaster area and give a chance to someone different who’s hopefully more stable and reliable.

If it’s all about stability the civil service and No 10 would work a lot better under someone who doesn’t cravenly sacrifice other people to save his own skin.

It’s hard to see what Starmer brings to the office at all. He’s useless.

But most of all, how would Labour behave if one of their political opponents was mired in the same dodgy circumstances as Starmer’s created for himself? Why should anyone listen to a defence of Starmer by supporters of a party that’s done all it can to smear and denigrate any opponent?

So the party decide that Starmer is the right man for the job. He spends years becoming that focal point. He leads a party of 400 people. Why should they replace him with someone who is an unknown quantity in these difficult times? Who is it going to benefit other than the opposition? An opposition who are not in power because they proved thhey were fucking shit at the job in the first place and have ample opportunity to come to the table, show they have good ideas and win votes in the next election.

Instead they spend every waking hour trying to smear campaign everything.

Its like living in the middle of the News Of The World newspaper back in the 90's. Grow up and realise that we need to become smarter and promote good policy over everything else.

Labour did the same when in opposition. They used whatever to get in. Now Starmer is up against it.

Myoldbear · 20/04/2026 14:17

Who is better than Starmer, from any party at all?

Pacificsunshine · 20/04/2026 14:20

Kier Starmer is a hypocritical, sanctimonious prig.

He is now being hoist by his own petard.

About 642 of the present 650 MPs.

WildLeader · 20/04/2026 14:23

Kneenightmare · 18/04/2026 18:00

The constant attack on Starmer makes me think I dreamed the 14 years of total Tory failure and corruption, destroying the economy through austerity, Brexit and Truss and Kwateng helping their mates to cash in on our misery. Democracy means accepting what people voted for. Many of us had to live with that for 14 years with our heads in our hands watching the UK become a joke on the world stage. All you Starmer and Labour haters have had to put up with him for less than two years so suck it up. If Kemi or Nige had been in charge we’d have blindly followed Trump into war and things would be much worse.

100% this!

Yes, lots of people respond like this, but no one will give a sensible answer. Why not?

I think Kemi Badenoch and her pals should be careful what they wish for.

Maybe Larry the cat? He’s familiar with Downing Street already.

And we havent learnt jack shit from it have we?

I was about 5 years old when i was told 2 wrongs dont make a right. The strongest party is the one who draws a line, looks at policy and convinces the public to support them.

Not the one who digs up enough shit on the opposition and then convinces the public to go on a witch hunt.

I have to admit that Larry the cat would be a much better candidate than my neighbours Chickpea the cat.

Such a flippant comment when in reality it effects everything you will probably be complaining about for the next 10,20,30 years.

No one in the Labour Party.

Well I understand you think that, and I know it's not actually possible at present, but theoretically do you prefer Badenoch, Farage, Davey or Polanski compared to Starmer?

Or maybe someone else?
