AIBU to want AI to be against MN talk guidelines?

Maybe no one else feels this way but I hate these stupid AI posts and comments. Maybe Mumsnet can’t ban AI in OP posts, but they could make it against the talk guidelines and have it set up to be reported in comments (they could add it as another reason to report along with the existing options). Maybe it’s time for MN to lead the way, not in penis beakers or naice ham, but in saying, for fuck’s sake, no more AI. (I just know the first viper comment will be “is this AI” and no, it’s not).

I hate AI too. However, I don’t think it should be banned. Other people find it useful and their opinions are no less valid than yours. Just don’t engage with it if you hate it so much.

I agree. I’m sick of seeing AI generated blocks of text, AI-assisted text, and those irritating “I asked ChatGPT for you, OP” posts.

AI / LLMs are unreliable and produce slop. No thanks, fuck off.

In this place, we - and our words - are the product. If MN loses those genuine human, creative connections, it’s doomed.

Yanbu. I hate it too. It’s so formulaic and verbose and patronising.
Could we at least have a facility whereby posts containing AI can be flagged and we can hide them?

I think it would be good to have a different text colour for AI stuff. So the poster, and the reader, can differentiate. And it would be good if anything cut and pasted auto changed when inserted. Not changed in a fixed way, it should be editable for folk to compose their post. But many ppl just cut and paste in AI/news etc and it can be difficult to tell what is pasted and what the posters thoughts are.

And I get it. Many posters do not have the time/inclination to identify what is what. So some form of auto change would be handy.

How would you prove it? if people use it that much they may sound naturally like it?
