Breaks at work!

AIBU to be annoyed with my breaks and lunch at work? I know there’s nothing I can actually do about it but I work somewhere with a lot of security doors and it’s a big place. Takes me almost 8 minutes to even get out of the building and 8 minutes to get back in. That’s a quarter of an hour and I only get 30 minutes for lunch!

just having a grumble about it 😂 anyone similar?

Is there no option to stay inside?

I hate buildings like this. I was quite spoilt in the office I worked in for years in that you could leap up or down the stairs and out for a fag and be back in under 3 minutes.

Then it moved to this big skyscraper with loads of different companies in, with security at the front and it took about 7 minutes to get in and out. So your fifteen minutes break would be about 2 minutes.

And obviously no shops near enough so you could quickly pop and buy a drink or snack etc.

Do you work in a prison? Bloody nightmare getting in and out to go and check your phone.

I wouldn’t bother going out the building - do you not have a staff room? Would you get told off if your break started when you left the building rather than when you left your desk?

I once worked at a place where it was a fifteen minute walk to the canteen and fifteen back. With a thirty minute lunch break.
