To ask which primary school preference you were allocated - London

Posting for traffic obv. If you’ve been through the primary school allocation process in the last few years, which number on your list were you allocated? I put 5 schools down and am very hopeful for my first choice but I’m basically sure I have no chance as not close enough. Is there really a chance we’ll be offered the 5th choice? We’re in South London. Only child so not familiar with the process.

We were offered first but we put realistic options. If you put down 4 unrealistic options you can almost guarantee you’ll get your fifth.

@KarmenPQZ i think all my options were realistic-ish. I don’t have any schools on my doorstep as such. Next door neighbours had to wait ages to be allocated one within a doable distance

As long as you have at least one realistic option it’s likely you’ll get it. If you have no realistic options, then the council just pick for you.

The way to actually find out is to call the school and ask how far the catchment went out last year.
